Change or Stay the Same: What Will You Choose?
As a New Year approaches, so does the opportunity to start anew, to look at our life and decide whether to stay the course or shift direction. Yet the questions that arise can feel overwhelming: Where do I go from here? How much risk am I willing to take? How much am I ready to leave behind? And what if it doesn’t work out?
All legitimate questions. But the truth is, they will never be answered unless we choose to shift.
So many of us carry beautiful dreams, visions we are certain we will accomplish… tomorrow, next month, next year. And then ten years pass. We look back, wondering where the time went, and realize we are standing in the exact same place, still waiting for our dream to come true, feeling even further from it than before.
Why? Because we are excuse machines.
There is always a reason we cannot fulfill our promises to ourselves: too young, too old, too heavy, too thin, too short, too tall, too plain, too attractive, too rich, too poor, too educated, not educated enough, no time, too much time. We bully ourselves into abandoning our dreams because we believe we must be “responsible adults” who take care of everything and everyone else first.
And life goes on. Time passes. And it never, ever comes back. Every second is a precious moment that will not repeat itself (unless it’s Groundhog Day).
The most exhilarating part is this: Each moment holds the possibility of a new decision.
We have lived by the same beliefs our entire lives, and those beliefs have created the results we see today. A wise person once told me: If you want to know what you are truly committed to, look at your results.
If you can look at them without judgment and ask yourself, is this how I want my life to be? Then you can begin to plan, both short and long-term, the changes you want to make and how to make them.
You can reacquaint yourself with who you are. Are you someone who thrives on big risks and profound shifts? Or do you move best with small, steady changes at your own pace?
You can identify which areas of your life need renewal, which of your original goals still matter, and which ones no longer reflect who you are becoming.
It is all a game of decisions, and every outcome is exactly what it is meant to be, each one teaches us something that moves us forward.
If only we could be present and mindful, without judging ourselves, if we could accept ourselves as we are, trust that we are held, cared for, loved, guided, if we could trust our Inner Power, or a Higher Force (call it the way you will) and know that no matter what, it will be okay… imagine the kind of life we could create.
Close your eyes for a moment and visualize your ideal life. Dare to dream big, let your spirit soar. If you can see it, feel it, touch it in your mind, it is possible.
Now the choice is yours. Staying where you are is one option, making changes is another. Neither is better or worse, just different paths leading to different lessons.
When I face a decision, I often imagine myself on my last day on Earth, looking back. I ask myself: Is this a decision I would regret, or one I would be proud of? The answer becomes clear the moment we shift our perspective. When fear is removed, it can no longer hold us back, and our path can be seen with much greater clarity.
Then you can choose what truly honors who you are becoming. Your future self is already there; you're simply catching up to the person you were always meant to be.
Your Invitation
Starting on Sunday, January 18th, 2026, we are opening a new group where we’ll explore these very topics together: habits, beliefs, and the insights that create lasting change. This will be a supportive, experiential space to reflect, share, and grow, with guidance and encouragement every step of the way.
Because this year is ending and the new one is about to begin, it’s the perfect moment to give yourself the opportunity to finally create the life you truly want, once and for all, without having to restart and repeat the same cycles again and again.
When we question old habits, rewrite beliefs that no longer serve us, and choose self-love and self-respect as our foundation, we stop repeating cycles. We become the change we’ve been seeking.
If you’re ready to create magic in your life, to meet amazing people, be excited about your life and have fun in the process, we invite you to join us!
For this time only, it’s just $97 (normally $397), inviting you to begin your journey surrounded by people who are ready to grow, heal, and rise together.
Reserve your spot today and step into a community committed to each other’s wellbeing and to living the life we were born to live at Silvia Edenburg Group Coaching
Looking forward to seeing you soon!
